Sedona: Aldo Andreoli's Modern Oasis in the Desert

by Rachel Miller/Photography by Marco Ricca

Aldo Andreoli’s three-bedroom house in Sedona, Arizona, is a masterful temple inspired by nature. Andreoli had no intentions of moving his life, no less his firm, when he first visited Sedona in the late 1990’s. Immediately taken by the beauty of the surroundings, he purchased a lot to build a vacation home. But fate had other plans, and now Andreoli and his firm Sanba International call Sedona their home. “The source of inspiration is always a mystery, to find it is almost the most difficult moment of the creative process”, Andreoli told me when asked what or who inspires him. But, for this house, the breathtaking view of Sedona’s environment captured his interest and ultimately spurred his inspiration for the house. “The beauty of architecture in such a place as Sedona is to be able to do something that is like a very well defined sculpture”, he explained. Considering this project would be his personally, there were limitless possibilities for his creativity. ⊕
